FoxESS UK and Capture Energy partner to make home batteries smarter with AI
By combining reliable hardware and smart control, FoxESS and Capture Energy are helping battery owners save more on electricity bills and play an active role in the UK’s energy transition.

The topic in a nutshell
FoxESS UK and Capture Energy have partnered to bring AI-driven optimisation to Fox home batteries. FoxESS, the UK’s market leader in residential energy storage, provides high-quality hardware, while Capture helps homeowners cut electricity costs, earn from grid rewards, and use more of their own solar energy. The goal: Make savings from advanced energy optimisation effortless and accessible for every Fox customer.
This marks the first time AI-based optimisation has been designed specifically for residential battery owners in the UK. Today, most home batteries simply charge from solar power - meaning they’re often underused, and during winter months, miss the chance to charge from the grid when electricity is cheapest. Capture AI changes that. It forecasts solar generation and household demand to make smart decisions automatically:
- Charges the right amount depending on solar generation and usage
- Buys power when it’s cheap, exports when it’s expensive
- Rewards users for supporting grid stability with their battery
It’s made possible by Fox’s high-quality hardware, one of the few systems enabling the secure, and almost real-time control needed for this level of optimisation.
Early Fox users are already seeing higher savings after connecting their systems to Capture AI. Hillary from Worthing shared: “Why have a standard battery when you can have it intelligently-managed for your own benefit. It was very easy to set up and cost me nothing - a no-brainer, really!”. He now saves an additional £8-£10 per week, adding up to £400-£500 per year simply by enabling Capture AI on his existing FoxESS system and his Octopus Agile electricity tariff.
The integration also helps solar and battery installers grow their businesses. Capture adds value from day one, turning each Fox installation into a system that has a shorter payback period and is easier to sell. “Many of our existing customers have benefitted from having their system optimised by Capture AI without any additional hardware and have seen immediate savings - it has also been useful in new sales conversations.” said Phil Sparrow from G&E Services in East Grinstead.

The Fox x Capture partnership shows how smart storage can save households money and participate in balancing a greener grid. The collaboration has already attracted attention in national press - including coverage in The Sunday Times, where the first beta user shared how the integration helped cut their electricity costs dramatically. “We’re thrilled to launch this partnership with Fox today and bring Capture AI to more Fox owners. After months of beta testing, we’ve seen many Fox users reach what was once just a dream - zero electricity bills.” said Johannes Pittgens, Co-Founder of Capture Energy.

About Capture Energy
Capture Energy is a London-based energy technology company that helps homeowners and businesses reduce electricity costs with smartly-managed battery storage. Founded in 2024, the company is backed by global venture capital funds and works closely with leading battery manufacturers, installers, and energy suppliers across the UK.
Solar & storage customers have become more engaged with off peak tariffs and energy savings for some time, and we have been looking for new ways to help them utilise their batteries more - with Capture, we’ve found a partner to do exactly that. It’s not just savings on the energy bill, it's future income generating options too. We also like that the Capture platform works with every energy supplier’s tariff, so the customer still has the flexibility to choose their energy provider but have the choice to enter the grid trading market with Capture in the future.
